Senegals are members of the Poicephalus family from Africa.

The Senegal is 9” long.   Senegals are stocky little birds that are  bright green with gray heads and an orange belly which makes them look like they are wearing an orange V sweater.    

The Poicephalus have a decent talking ability, and are very good at imitating sounds around the house.  They are playful and enjoy hanging toys as well as handheld toys.  These little parrots are very comical and will hang upside down from their cage and swing around and will also roll over on their backs while playing with their hand toys.

The Poicephalus family are known to be quieter than their much larger parrot cousins and make excellent apartment pets. Life span expectancy can be up to 30 years with proper diet and care.

Recommended cage size would be 18" x 18"x 20" or larger, as they are very active birds.
